El Oso is a remarkable Gesha produced by the Cooperativa Agraria Frontera San Ignacio in the Cajamarca region of northern Peru. Grown in the buffer zones of the Tabaconas Namballe National Sanctuary, this coffee supports a project dedicated to protecting the region’s forests and the endangered spectacled bear while promoting sustainable coffee farming.
Produced using traditional washed processing, the cooperative combines organic farming methods with conservation initiatives, including composting programs, native tree replanting and ongoing farmer education. These practices help preserve the surrounding ecosystem while producing exceptional quality coffee year after year.
In the cup, expect elegant notes of floral, redcurrant and guava, showcasing the delicate complexity and refined character that make Gesha one of the world’s most celebrated coffee varieties.
