Colombia La Cristalina

La Cristalina is located in Vereda Bajo Español, in the municipality of Chinchina. Its 21 hectares reach between 1460 and 1790 meters above sea level, with 4.1 hectares dedicated to an environmental reserve.The three Valdes family farms—Parana, La Cristalina, and San Pablo—are highly technified properties, with admirable levels of production thanks to their combined total of 421,000 trees, 142,000 of which grow on Finca La Cristalina. Each year portions of the farm are replanted, always keeping in mind biodiversity and the environment. Coffee is washed and depulped at the ecological mill, where the pulp is placed in a compost treatment to be converted to organic fertilizer for the coffee trees.

Gakui Farmers Cooperative society was established in 2014 after splitting from Kandara Farmers Cooperative Society. The Cooperative has 1 wet mill and covers electoral zones of Mukoe, Mwania Mburi, Kagongo, Karabai, Kirii, Matiraini, Kiratina, and Kagono.
They are managed by an elected board of 7 members. Each member represents an electoral zone in the location. Currently the Coop has 4 permanent members of staff who are headed by a Secretary Manager. The Secretary Manager is the Chief Executive Officer overseeing the day to day running of the Coop under the supervision of the board.
Uganda Bukonzo Dream

The name ‘Bukonzo Dream’ originates from the Bukonzo tribespeople of Uganda. They are brave, friendly and welcoming people who dream of being able to provide better opportunities for each generation.
Kananga Neckson is the lead farmer for the ‘Kisinga group’. He lives just outside the town, regularly travelling to his farm higher up. During the peak of the season, the “the streets of his village are filled with red cherries”.
He manages a large group of farmers, collecting their coffee and working as a lead farmer for the area.
Neckson is extremely well organised and respected within his group, he does a fantastic job of coordinating the operation with the washing station. Since leading the group he has managed to consistently improve the quality of coffee at each harvest ensuring the best price for his partners.
Burundi Nyagishiru

Surrounded by around 7000 trees, Nyagishiru can be found in the Buhinyuza Commune of the Muyinga Province of Burundi. As a province, it is one of least populated and lesser-known coffee producing regions of the entire country. Interestingly, the relatively flat land here makes the perfect conditions for the production of naturally processed coffee at good volumes.
This said Nyagishiru was able to process coffee from almost 850 families this season. These producers received a premium of 18% on top of the local market rate for their harvests, whilst the staff of the station earned almost 60% above the average labour rate.
Myanmar Shwe Yi Mon

Shwe Yi Mon estate lies in Say Ta Lone Village, Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region. Acquired the land in 1998 and planted coffee in 1998 also, with and altitude of 1093-1108 masl and 80 acres, the arabica coffee trees at the farm are intercropped with silver oak and macadamia trees for shade. At Shwe Yi Mon Estate, you can see several experiments with different spacing between shade trees species, fertilization, 3 solar dryer domes and drip irrigation system.
