Meet the Producer: Arbin Stanly Molina Fernandez

Arbin comes from a family of coffee growers. His father, Stanly, introduced him to farming at a young age. After working in a textile factory, Arbin returned to coffee when his father gifted him land. Now, on his small farm, La Montaña, he focuses on growing Parainema coffee alongside plantain and oranges.

We first sourced coffee from Arbin when he contributed to our Santa Barbara Natural Parainema Blend. Since then, he has expanded production and now offers his own single microlots. We’re excited to bring them to the UK.

Like many producers in Santa Barbara, Arbin faces challenges. Labor shortages and rising agricultural costs make coffee farming more difficult each year. However, his dedication to quality remains strong.

The Honduras La Montaña Honey Parainema lot reflects his commitment to craftsmanship. First, he ferments the cherries for 48 hours before pulping them. After that, they undergo a 96-hour dry fermentation in plastic bags. Once fermentation is complete, he carefully dries the coffee in a parabolic solar dryer for 12–15 days. He then hand-sorts the beans to remove defects, ensuring exceptional quality.

As a result, this coffee delivers a beautifully balanced cup with a sweet, juicy profile. We’re thrilled to share it with you.
