Rwanda Nyamasheke

This is our first year working with the Gisheke washing station, located in the Nyamasheke District, overlooking vast stretches of Lake Kivu and Idjwi Island, which is part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Almost 40% of the cherries received at Gisheke arrives by boat from Bushungwe Island.

All the cherry produced on these islands is processed exclusively by the station. Currently, the location is very hard to access, as it can only be reached by boat, whilst the roads to the station are built.
